My Mother's Pot Roast

This is insanely easy to make, tastes great, and as far as I know it's impossible to burn. The chicken version is pictured, obviously, with a helping of stuffing - the latter is just stovetop with a cut-up apple and a handful of raisins thrown in.

INGREDIENTS

1 pot roast or whole chicken
6 potates
6 carrots
water

Pour about half an inch of water into your roasting pan. Place roast or chicken in the middle. Peel and cut up the carrots and potatoes, and arrange around the roast. Cook at 350F for two hours. You can make gravy out of the water when you're done.
